It is everyone’s responsibility to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children, young people and vulnerable adults. The Diocese of Down and Connor has policies and procedures in place to ensure best practice when working within a parish setting.

The Parish Safeguarding Committee’s role is to;

• Distribute and explain the Diocesan Safeguarding Policies and Procedures to parish groups working with children, young people and vulnerable adults and ensure they are being adhered to.
• Promote ‘best practice’ in Safeguarding in our parish.
• Liaise with the Northern Dioceses’ Vetting Office regarding all issues in relation to the vetting of parish personnel/volunteers.
