Church Law requires that “In each Parish there is to be a finance committee to help the parish priest in the administration of the goods of the parish.”  (Code of Canon Law 537).

The Parish Finance Committee is consulted before any major expenditure is incurred and advises the Parish Priest on the ongoing maintenance of the Church and parish property.
